Angela Ainsley, the daughter of a Vicar in a small town, pretty much gets her way with almost everyone. When she sees that Jack cares about her, her imagination really gets carried away and that cause problems. After she learns the truth she has to decide whether Jack is the man she wants.

Jack Thorndike is one of the worst rakes in London and has become completely bored with the ton. He is the second son of a Duke and hates the fact that he is compared to his father. Once he realizes how he feels about Angela, he must tell her everything before he can go further with their lives.

After reading Duke Pretender I was left a little unsatisfied, expecting more from this story. The characters were very entertaining from beginning to end, with their involvement in each others lives. With all the mystery surrounding the people of the quiet town, there was not a moment when you were not thinking about who actually committed murder. Sharon Lanegran has written a historical romance filled with suspense, it keeps you reading to see if you are right about who was killing off the townspeople.
