Damian Grant had a funeral to attend; it was his former lover’s father. Jake Fields didn’t expect to get caught up with a blast from the past during such a sad time. Damian and Jake used to be lovers before that blasted note.
Jake left Damian to satisfy his dad, who went to the grave not knowing his son was gay. Jake sees Damian at the funeral and immediately sparks fly for both of them, but Jake still hasn’t come out yet so he asks Damian if he can see him at his hotel room. This visit consists of spaghetti for dinner and ice cream with chocolate sauce for dessert, of course the chocolate sauce is Damian’s dessert after he licks it off Jake! The next day, the maid waltzes in and it’s downhill for Jake.
I liked this short story because it took Damian and Jake eleven years to get back together, and even though they did, they still had differences to work out and things in each other’s past that had to be dealt with, but they made it. I wanted this book to continue. At the end there were no regrets for Jake.
