Sam Woods is the leader of the werewolves and has been looking to bringing his people back together. Vampires are hunting them and most of his people have scattered. Sam is also looking for Elizabeth, unaware she is his mate.
Sam saves Elizabeth from a vampire and ends up being attacked by a bear. Elizabeth saves him and goes with him to meet the other werewolves that Sam leads. Once there, traitors and vampires try to kill both Sam and Elizabeth.
The Protector’s Destiny is the beginning of the story of the Loup-garou or modern werewolves. The twists and turns of the betrayals and vampires make for a very action-packed story. Sam does his best to win Elizabeth and allay her fears about their relationship. You feel as if you are in the story as it unfolds and learn about some of the history of the society that Ms. Leigh has created. I look forward to reading future stories of these werewolves and how she resolves the war between them and the vampires.
