Jayden Sindler and Nash Vargas made a personal business arrangement to be a make believe couple for Jayden’s sister’s wedding. The arrangement was suitable for both men: Jayden would have a shield from the women who refused to accept that he is gay and Nash would have a fun filled short vacation in sunny Florida.  What Jayden and Nash did not count on was the mutual attraction that promptly developed between them.

Boyfriend for The Weekend is the first book in the Boyfriend series, a spinoff of the Arbor Heights series. The well written plot brings several topics to the forefront, homophobia being the main issue. The plot also illustrates the psychosomatic impact on the characters.

Jayden is openly gay with a career and on good terms with most of his family. His relationships have been casual, as well as short term, before meeting Nash.

Nash’s life consisted of a controlling abusive environment until he was finally able to break free. Fortunately Nash has friends willing to support and protect him. For Nash, meeting Jayden opened a world of freedom to be himself. Nevertheless, Jayden is determined not to stifle Nash’s new found independence. Jayden believes Nash should explore more options. However, Nash does not want to be free if it means losing Jayden.  

Jayden and Nash have come to a crossroad in their relationship. Their journey continues in Boyfriend Forever. 

Diana DeRicci has created an impressive enjoyable saga. The engaging characters and the subject matter are realistic. The intimacy is passionate.
