Engineer Isoke Morehouse is a beautiful full figured southern woman, with brains to boot. Too bad she couldn’t think her way out of attending this year’s National Society of Engineers convention. Watching a room full of engineers trying to shake their groove thing is about as appealing as having her nails pulled off one by one. And, if that’s not bad enough, the Arizona heat has the devil asking for air conditioning. But there is one bright side to this year’s trip. Isoke gets to steal glances at her handsome boss Dr. Njarðar Valdason.

Njarðar, affectionately known as Roar by Isoke, isn’t your average handsome Scandinavian gentleman. He’s as brilliant as he is smart and is in love with Isoke. Roar is at a loss for a way to gain access to the ebony beauty, that is, until the food fight from hell breaks out. Roar is ready for action and takes no prisoners when it comes to the woman he loves.
Veiled Passions is the first story in the Engineered IV Love series. Isoke is a vibrant extravert with the power to command attention just by entering a room. Roar is the classic introvert but don’t let that fool you. When he’s in the bedroom, he takes no prisoners and wields a big stick. I found myself chanting “Roar, Roar” when he stepped up to show Isoke what type of man he really was. I think he should have come with a caution label, but Isoke seemed to handle herself well even if she did step into a kiddy pool thinking she found a guppy but was introduced to a shark. Ms. Johnson and Ms. Leigh have written a wonderful entrance to this series. Between the fascinating characters, hilarious scenes, and love making hot enough to make you wish for fireproof paper, Veiled Passions is a bona-fide page turner that will leave you anxiously awaiting the next installment of the series.
