Valerie Keating can’t seem to figure out what exactly she wants to do now that she is no longer a therapist. After she met Ian’s friendly group of friends, she is even less reluctant to spend time with him. Even with her insecurities about herself, she can’t stop herself from loving him.
Ian Winters is still recovering from a bad divorce, from a wife not deserving what she got, and a brother, for whose death he feels responsibility. Now that he has Valerie in his life and is introducing her to a lot of taboo situations only makes her keep her distance without his encouragement.
Fighting the Undertow is a wonderful love story that had so many complications, it was a wonder the characters were making it past them. With it maybe being a little too soon for the lovers to come together but needing each other made it more livable for them. There was a lot of mystery surrounding the story and I loved every moment of reading this book. While at a party hosted at the parent’s home, I was not surprised at the reaction of the parents to their surviving sons or Valerie, who was shunned because of Ian.
Eden Rivers writes of a beautiful beach home that had loads of memories for friends and family alike. The love that was shared by everyone was unbelievable very tender and a lifeline if I ever saw one. I was left with wanting this to be a fairy tale but knew better and hoped that all the couples survived.
