Selene became a werewolf after her father accidently bit her when she got too close to him when she was nine. Ferdinand went to Romania to visit relatives and got caught at night in an abandoned building and was attacked by a vampire.
Both are seniors at a college campus and start talking to each other at a Halloween party. Ferdinand asks Selene out, but both have to make some adjustments because of their secrets. After a disastrous date, they realize they have more in common than they realize, but Selene’s ex-boyfriend is stalking them.
Halloween Romance is a love story about two young people who happened to be paranormal beings. Ms. Haymond used the typical stereotype for Ferdinand’s vampire. She gave a little more depth to Selene’s werewolf. Their relationship was a typical college love story. There were a few light moments and the epilogue tied up the story nicely. Those that like romance will probably like this book.
