Fae Sutherland & Chelsea James’ His Every Breath takes us to Austin, Texas. The setting bounces between three main locations. Trace’s working ranch is one of the settings and seemed to be missing dimension. There were key elements I had hoped to see, like staff. The storyline development could have been a bit stronger. While Riley and Trace are likable characters, I felt Riley was missing depth. Even after reading about his past, I felt he put Trace through one too many changes. He acted quite spoiled at times, and didn’t draw me in like I had hoped. However, I loved Trace’s tenacity and determination. His romantic nature and genuine kindness towards Riley made root for his happiness. His circumstances made him a definite candidate for the “I deserve love” group. Overall, I found His Every Breath to be a good read.
