When the Bluebird Calls is the first book in the Heart of the Mountain series by Leiland Dale. If the other books in this series turn out as good as this one, the readers will have to find more space on their keeper shelf. The characters, Devon and Greg, are strongly written and the chemistry between them intense from the very beginning. When they get together, they burn up the pages. The character’s personal stories are compelling and will pull the readers in as neither man has had an easy time of it. When Devon’s ex shows up, readers will be surprised by the turn of events. There are also many secondary characters that call out to have their own stories told. As When the Bluebird Calls wraps up, readers will be left anxiously waiting for the next story.
