Kate wants the yearly fundraiser for the Jane Austen Regency Re-Enactment Society to come off without a hitch.  Julian and the Scottish Highland Games group have used the state park for years.  What happens when both want the same place at the same time?

I loved Love is a Battlefield.  The first book in the Games of Love series is funny and you get a good look at what can happen when two people are stubborn, competitive and in love.  The author was knowledgeable about two different groups of re-enactors. Anyone that attends Tudor Fairs, Ren Fairs, and Scottish Games knows that it takes a lot of co-operation and coordination to pull any of these fairs together.  I attend a lot of them, so I really appreciated the detail the author put in this book. I also loved the final compromise to see who would win the site.

Neither Kate or Julian think they are ready for a relationship and with Julian’s nemesis, there were some very funny moments with a lot of the secondary characters.  The Scottish athletes were great and some of the scenes reminded me of my brothers while growing up.  Both Kate and Julian are very strong characters that finally learn what is really important.

Be prepared for lots of laughter as you read this book.  There will be times you want to slap one or more of the characters at least once because of their attitudes or behavior, but it all works out in the end.  I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
