Ex-mercenary Sinclair Alverston’s tired of one-night stands and wants someone special of his own. That’s why he doesn’t know why he’s in a bar watching other men try to impress each other enough to hook-up. Then he spies a slim blonde moving toward the bar and his heart nearly jumps out of his chest. He can’t stop staring. This gorgeous creature, who looks nothing like the men who normally tempt him, is the guy Sinclair wants.

Celebrity chef Callum Turner’s thrilled to catch the attention of the sexiest man in the bar and knows he won’t have trouble convincing the hunk to follow him home. But he gets more than a night of fun and sizzling hot sex. Callum winds up with a caring but forceful and overprotective lover determined to shield him from a crazed stalker. Will the lovers survive and can Callum deal with Sin’s domineering personality or will the stress drive them apart?

Tempting Sin is the first release in Mercenary Love series by Amber Kell.

Two characters hooking up in a bar isn’t unusual but that doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy how Ms. Kell brought Sin and Callum together. She creatively used bantering conversation to effectively express their simmering sexual tension and desire and before you know it…they’re out the door on the way to Callum’s condo. Not much of a surprise. What was a shocker is how much fun they had together, inside the bedroom and out. And I loved the scenes where Callum cooked for Sin. The things he whipped up in the kitchen are so drool-worthy, I almost gained weight just reading about it.

For a story of just over 31K, the main characters are surprisingly well developed, and Ms. Kell manages to pack in a lot of well-plotted story. Not only does she successfully handle Sin and Callum’s romance but integrates some interesting secondary characters while dealing with a nutty stalker. I love Dave, the limo driver and his endless eating. And then there’s Sin’s sister and Callum’s two brothers who appear on the scene during the stalker portion of the story. I really want to know more about the two brothers. I’ve got my fingers crossed that the mysterious Arthur gets a book in the future.

Reader Caution: Please be aware that this is an expanded (I understand about 1000 words), re-edited release.
