Talia, short for Natalia, is so confused about her parents not wanting her to venture far from home; yet want her to met a nice man and have children. The night before she is to leave home, she is kidnapped by the orcs. When she awakens she realizes that she is tied to a wall and when she looks into Calion’s eyes, her rescuer, she knew she was in love with him. Her disbelief of how he rejected her time and time again finally took its toll on her.
Calion Saralonde who is the Prince of the Calentaur Elves is responsible for checking the faerie Myst wall that keeps apart humans and Faeries for any disturbances. On his way home he senses that there is movement that requires his inspection. When he finds out that Talia was able to see or feel magick because she is not elven, it really disturbed him because of his beliefs and he was holding on to traditions and legends regarding Humans very hard.
Eyes of Fire was a fabulous read for me. All of the different emotions, fighting and deceit going on made it even more enjoyable. What Calion and Talia go through because of their love is incredibly heart-breaking with the rejections, hate and betrayal from among the Elven people. C J England has written a wonderful story of elves, orcs and humans that are either trying to destroy each other or fulfill a prophesy. Each person involved made it more realistic to believe and I am looking forward to reading the next book in The Mylari Chronicles series.
