At the age of thirty-four, Micah Souther is a junior owner in the company Manning, Albright and Souther. He enjoys bike riding with his friends and driving his 1969 Mustang Mach 1. He also finds himself attracted to his new employee, Jonas, but isn’t sure if the man is straight or gay.
Jonas Chadwick still has an athletic form at the age of forty-eight. Having been in a long term loving relationship that ended devastatingly a few years ago and not being one for casual sex or one night stands, Jonas feels he’s still not ready to become involved with anyone new.
During a chat over coffee, Jonas accepts Micah’s invite to go bicycling with him and his friends later that evening. Micah, unable to help himself, drops a few hints that he’s attracted and interested in getting to know Jonas better. After spending time with Jonas, Micah finds himself even more attracted to the man who seems to have an air of sadness and loneliness about him. Upon returning to Micah’s house for a bite to eat, he finally gets his wish when Jonas kisses him passionately. Micah’s disappointed though when Jonas backs off and leaves telling him he’s not ready.
Passion’s Victory is a touching, thoughtful and realistic love story of two men meeting at very different stages in their lives. KC Kendricks has again created two terrific and very likable characters in Micah and Jonas who I found myself rooting for all the way. I highly recommend this book to all fans of the m/m romance genre.
