Storm Lord Aeral has lived with centuries of loneliness in his mountain fortress. Thanks to his brother, the Sea Lord, and his brother’s lover, Storm is paying for a crime he is not solely responsible of committing. For centuries, women from the village under his domain are sent as Chosen ones to make amends to the God in hopes of saving their village from plague. Unfortunately, none of them has ever wanted him, his company or their position as the Chosen one; that is until they sent the chieftain’s daughter Aideyn. Aideyn has a heart of gold and enough compassion to fill the world. And, while her first reaction to being selected was one of dread and sadness, it soon changed to something more. She is capable of righting a few wrongs and adds a measure of peace and happiness to Aeral’s miserable existence.
Charlotte Boyett-Compo has written a story filled with passion and discovery in Kiss of the Wind. The characters, from the gods to the mortals, have a real feeling and draw you into the story. Aideyn has a giving spirit that creates joy wherever she goes. There is one scene where she interacts with one who has never known a caring hand and that cemented her as one of my favorite characters. This is a story you don’t want to miss. Wonderfully detailed in the scenery, fantastic characters, moments of wit, loving honey-coated erotic encounters and messages in trust and forgiveness are all included in Kiss of the Wind. This is one story you don’t want to miss.
