Brian Cohen is sitting in his South Beach apartment, reflecting on his current unemployment status when he gets a phone from his best friend Stella, a fashion model that’s doing a local shoot and has a one day job for Brian. After work, Brian meets one of the male models and he informs Brian that his partner is looking for office help at GayLife.com. Brian rushes to the interview and is immediately attracted to co-owner Nick Petrangelis; however, Brian soon realizes his hopes to be noticed by Nick is a waste of time when he discovers Nick is in a long term relationship with the gorgeous male model. Brian is also about to discover that sometimes what you see is really an illusion.

GayLife.com is a hilarious and fascinating story narrated by Brian. Brian is a people-watcher who relates his observations; he also has an approachable personality which invites friends and co-workers to seek his logical opinions on issues including Nick. However, Brian is missing the intuitive intellect to find his Mr. Right. Nick is a business powerhouse with dreams of creating the ultimate resource website for GLBT. The very amusing Neil Plakcy illustrates some of the intricate details of constructing an internet business with this superb story which with most people can relate. The plot is actually that of the average working person and the characters are realistic. I particularly enjoyed the references to the hilarious T-shirt slogans along with Brian’s witty comments. GayLife.com is a great mood enhancer.
