JB McDonald introduces us to Will and Zach in Hero in Me. Zach knows why his career as an officer is over and accepts the blame. He’s not throwing a pity party, but his desire to help is still part of his general makeup. Will has dealt with being a victim in different situations, but has learned to bounce back and move forward with life. He doesn’t allow people to control his mindset, or make him scared of his own shadow. You may kick Will, but he’s too strong to stay down. I loved this about his character. He knew what he wanted and devil-be-damned, he was going to get it. Zach and Will make a great couple. Zach’s edginess is nothing compared to Will’s ability to take charge. JB McDonald delivers a well-written story about the hard lessons we endure, and not allowing circumstances to dictate your life. The one message I could say I got from this story is seize the day because tomorrow isn’t promised.
