Gray White notices lights on in a house that is supposed to be empty across the lake from his home. He calls it in and then goes to confront the trespasser, only to find it is his little sister’s childhood best friend, Sorcha.

Gray is stunned when he realizes that Sorcha is his mate. Sorcha has always lusted after Gray, but has only come home because of a constant nightmare about her parent’s death. Sorcha is slowly regaining her memories about her childhood and the night she almost died.

As the two explore the deaths, other events start happening including a kidnapping. There is evidence that wolves might be sacrificing children so they can shift.

Jianne Carlo kept building the suspense in White Wolf. Though the white wolves can’t shift, they have many characteristics of wolves, which helps a lot in this story. There are several undercurrents and twists in this story that will surprise you. However, the author ties everything up neatly by the end of the book. Sorcha and Gray’s relationship started very fast, and they had several misunderstandings, as Sorcha was not a wolf. I will be rereading this one again.
