Elise is a young female vampire who is living on her own, struggling with finances while she tries to finish college. She hasn’t seen her vampire sire for over two years, and even though they’d argued, she’s devastated when she learns he’s been killed in an accident. Returning home for the funeral and will reading she’s shocked to discover that her sire has left her a fortune. She inherits not only his expansive estate, but one of the most highly lucrative lumber companies in the Vampire Nation.
Her sire’s will also stipulates that his two wolf friends and mangers, Verne and Ace, will continue in their jobs and help her run the company. Things aren’t as they initially seem when she learns that her sire’s death wasn’t an accident and that the handsome Verne and Ace were much more than just managers to her sire.
Carnal Inheritance is the second in Kate Hill’s new and ongoing series Carnal 2. This one gets off to a quick start when Elise learns of her sire’s death, and jumps just as fast to the funeral and the time immediately following it. It’s at the gravesite that she first meets Ace and Verne and feels the first tugs of attraction to the gorgeous duo, and this attraction is soon a blistering fire of need which rages through the story as you hurry to the end. The book is well plotted; fast paced and has three likable and sexy characters whose physical relationship burn up the pages
The initial introduction of the bad guy was nicely carried out was the continuing threats. I loved how the author pulled in the three characters from the first book, Carnal Temptation, and used them as part of the resolution of the threats in this one.
