Ryan has just inherited a title and castle he knew nothing about. Ready for a change, he heads for Scotland. Once he reaches the village where his castle is located, he finds himself stranded at the village train station. When he goes to the nearest pub to use the phone, he meets James, another American. Learning that Ryan has been stranded without a ride, James offers to give him a lift when his shift is over. Openly gay Ryan soon finds himself falling in love with the handsome bartender but rather than lose this new friendship, he keeps his feeling to himself. It isn’t until a nosy matchmaking ghost locks them in a closet that Ryan finds out James’ feelings for him are just as strong.
I enjoyed Jade Falconer’s Ghost of a Chance very much. James’ quiet personality balances out Ryan’s rather flamboyant ways nicely. Surrounded by a homophobic ghost, a matchmaking ghost, and a ghost wanting to make sure Ryan produces an heir so the family retains their title, as well as a nosy reporter, keeps their lives from becoming too quiet. This is a very entertaining read that I would recommend to any reader of the genre.
