When cowboy Tate meets Army brat Dave, he’s drunk out his gills. But when Tate runs into Dave again, he figures his lonely life is about to start picking up. Dave has no issues with his own sexuality and doesn’t bother to hide it from his military friends. But when he runs into trouble, he’s willing to take them on as long as he gets Tate at the end of it all.
Jackass Flats is a good story if you’re looking for two very different men who come together despite their differences in upbringing and jobs. The author set the story very well, and the characters were pleasant. However I had a hard time with the dialogue, and that has to do with the geography from where the characters were from. I enjoyed the experience of learning about the setting and the obvious dialect of the characters but the story, in the end, just wasn’t for me.
