Ms. Cecilia Burnside is in love with her long time friend Bertram and she wants to eventually marry him without forcing his hand. When he is accused of treason, she convinces her father that they need to be with the family to help in any way. She knows he is the only man for her and will have him whatever it takes her.
Bertram Huntington, Viscount Darling, wants to be somewhere else at the moment and is having a hard time accepting his confinement until he has been cleared of any wrong-doing. With his friends help, they keep him busy along with Cecilia who is staying very close to him. Now that he has realized that he truly loves her there is nothing that will stop them from marrying each other.
House of Scandal is the second book of the Cerridwen Cotillion was a fabulous story, taking me back to the regency era. From the beginning until the end of this book there was always something going on and I was very intrigued by the mysterious way everything was unfolding. The characters were fascinating, along with their personalities that enhanced each other. Just when I thought things were winding down, the adventure started all over again and there was still a mystery man whose name was not given. Jeanne Savory does a wonderful job with this story and I was very entertained by the actions, mostly of two ladies in particular. These ladies were very intelligent and helpful to those they knew.
