Colt McKnight is going to do his friend Jason a favor and protect Jason’s sister from a stalker. Baylie Campbell is a lingerie model and a kitchen witch, who has temporarily lost her powers. And she’s already being protected by a dog, a cat, a skunk and a potbellied pig.
Colt is recently divorced and caring for his wheelchair-bound sister Gina. I found this ex-detective turned cowboy a bit too macho, giving orders at every turn. But Baylie finds him irresistible, and sparks fly.
There’s a lot of silliness packed into this short story. Perhaps there is too much information and too little detail. I would have liked to know more about the stalker’s background and intent. A few more details about the life of a successful kitchen witch would have been helpful. But it’s hard to quibble with such enjoyable fluff. It’s a fun little fantasy.
