Earth found itself under attack and after being victorious, the government formed the Lunar Academy of Excellence in order to train future fighters. Eric Ferron and Chaz Brighton are two of those men.
Ferron, a Needler pilot and still grieving over the death of his last partner, is not happy being assigned a Newbie, who does not understand the ropes yet. To keep both of them alive, Eric will have to make sure his new partner understands exactly what being a Needler means.
Chaz was recruited from earth to be a gunner. Excited and nervous he can't wait to get started but once he reaches the Academy, he learns there are some things the recruiters forgot to tell him. Soon he's learning more than how to shoot down the enemy.
I thought Broken Boundaries was a great futuristic story. The interaction between Ferron and Chaz, as well as the secondary characters, is intense. The training they go through and the battles they face instantly brought to mind shows like Battlestar Galactica and Starship Troopers. A warning to the reader however, some of the sex has dubious consent.
