Vampire prince Devon Hart is curious about his lover, dragon shifter Vincent Sheridan’s background. Devon’s chance to learn Vincent’s history comes when an adversary from Vincent's past attempts to claim Vincent’s home in Cardiff, Wales.

Repertoire: Cardiff is a follow-up to The Shape of Things. Devon and Vincent have been together for a year. Devon was ousted by another vampire who wanted control over Devon’s territory. Rescued by Vincent, who is the leader of shifters, Vincent and Devon soon became lovers, which formed an unbreakable bond. Vincent is an honorable protector of both people and Devon. He chose not to feed on humans and eats cattle instead. When Vincent is informed of what is happening in his homeland, he realizes he must protect the people who once honored him. Devon too has honor, he feeds from Vincent. Because of his love for Vincent, Devon is happy to live wherever Vincent chooses.

Although this is a short story, it is well written, with amusing interaction between characters, as well as incredible love scenes. The amazing Mychael Black has a talent for creating compassionate characters, in addition to an enjoyable saga that touches the heart.
