She meets up with Gabriel Sarke, who is hoping for her hand. Gabriel’s family has not had fates magic show them their mates for many generations. Ondrea and Gabriel decide to go to the Fates Room to see if Ondrea and Gabriel are fated for one another. This is a final test for Ondrea, she is unsure of Gabriel and wants to find out if he is her destiny. However, in the mirrors of the Fates Room, Ondrea see herself and another man.
Kieran Medici, who is a schoolmate of Ondrea, has already been to the Fates Room and seen his future…Ondrea. He is willing to fight for her, especially since the Medici family and the O’ken family do not see eye to eye. He has to prove himself to Ondrea and together they fight off Gabriel, who still wants Ondrea for himself.
This is a good story about destiny and love conquering all, in the classic format of boy meets girl, boy loses girls, and boy has to win girl back. The sex is just enough for the imagination to fill in the details. There were quite a few times, I found myself wondering about how things happened. For example, why the two families disputed? I understand that it is warriors versus healers but there seemed to be more too it. Details were scarce in this book. Taken as a whole, the book was good and I enjoyed reading it.
