Twenty year old Daniel Seaton is tired and extremely hungry. He left home and has found life on the road to be a lot harder than he expected it to be. When he stumbles across what he thinks are wild raspberries, he dives in and helps himself to handfuls of the juicy and delicious fruit. At the sound of an unexpected voice and the realization that a rifle is being pointed at him, he freezes in place, scared and unsure of what to do.
At the age of thirty four, Tyler Edwards has a long and difficult past. A past that causes him to be distrustful of anyone he meets. When he finds a young man trespassing on his property and eating his berries, he’s immediately suspicious. Unable to stop himself, he takes the weakened and bedraggled young man home so he can get some long overdue rest.
In exchange for food, Daniel agrees to help Tyler out with some work on the cabin. After Tyler is injured and grudgingly asks Daniel to stay on and help out, Daniel readily agrees as he looks forward to sleeping on a soft couch and having a full stomach. As their relationship changes and their feelings for each other grow, Tyler finds himself reacting to Daniel in ways totally inconsistent with his nature. With Tyler’s past though, will they be able to have a future together?
Wild Raspberries is a fantastic book! It’s one of those perfect stories you’ll want to read again and again. Jane Davitt has created two extraordinary and dynamically different characters in Daniel and Tyler. Daniel is totally irresistible and, despite his youth, very knowledgeable. He has a terrific sense of humor and is more than capable of holding his own with the strong willed, independent and highly intelligent Tyler. They complement each other perfectly and the author allows the relationship between them to build and grow at a wonderfully natural pace. Jane Davitt has even managed to write the perfect ending for these two characters. I can not say enough about the many reasons why I like this book so much, without giving the entire story away. So do yourself a favor and don’t miss it!
