A Good Sub Would... by Sierra Cartwright - 5 Nymphs

Shelby’s friend has been taking her to Dark Haven because she has wanted to learn more, but she is not getting what she wants.  She ends up being part of the stakes in a poker game with Trevor, who wants her to be his and to take her in hand.

I had to laugh at some of the pranks Shelby pulled on Trevor, though it earned her punishment.  Shelby found what she had been looking for with Trevor.  One thing that came through very clearly in this story is the patience a Dom should have when they are training a new sub.  The chemistry between the two was hot, so keep ice on hand.

Hunting Holly by Belinda McBride - 4.5 Nymphs

Holly ran from her pack because she needed to be able to gain confidence in herself, as well as forget the two men she loved.  Once she returns to San Francisco, she is found by Tex and Hunter and is claimed by them.  The three end up hiding in Dark Haven.

This story has a lot of discoveries about self.  Hunter is surprised that he actually takes to being a Dom, but is also surprised that Holly is both his and Tex’s mate.  Learning about one’s self can be hard to handle sometimes without good friends and someone who loves you.  The three of them started out as great friends a long time before Holly left to find herself, but Hunter is the one that grows the most in this story, and I am looking forward to learning more about the pack in the future stories from this author.

Welcome to the Dark Side by Cherise Sinclair - 5 Nymphs

Summer only plays at playing because of an incident with her ex and only plays in public at Dark Haven.  Virgil is there to try to find out if he really is a Dom and not the pervert he feels like.

This is another great story of self discovery.  Virgil was introduced to the lifestyle by the Hunt brothers and though he enjoys it, he has a lot to overcome with the broken record he hears in his head.  Learning to trust in this lifestyle is probably one of the hardest things about it, especially if you have a bad experience.  Virgil is so patient and willing to do what is necessary so Summer can learn that trust.

Western Night is a good read that is a fitting second book in the Doms of Dark Haven series.  I really like the idea of a theme night that carries throughout when the parties are introduced.  The three authors have an understanding of the BDSM lifestyle which comes through clearly.  In fact, I wish there was a Dark Haven in reality because the characters are so real.  I am looking forward to the next book about Dark Haven.
