Captain Katherine Thorn has one of the toughest reputations in the Galaxy Elite Fleet and she’s not above bending the rules to get what she wants. Her attitude gets her in trouble when she mistakenly decides two diplomats are Rim pirates and tries to use sexual blackmail to guarantee their silence. It’s the biggest error of her life because these two men don’t forget a wrong; they get even and plan to do it by getting her in their power and taking her to their bed. Kate has no idea what will happen when Dom and Ren’s powerful families insist on her surrender for their treatment, but she never images her government will cave in to their demands and what it will mean to her and her future.

Captain Kate is the first release in the new Galaxy Elite Fleet series. Kate is a difficult character. Initially she appears almost too brutal, hardened, arrogant and egoistical to be considered a female lead, and truthfully the portion of the story where she remains in command of her ship…I didn’t like her…at all. It was only after she’s at the ‘mercy’ of Dom and Ren that I found any redeeming qualities in her personality. It’s at this point that I started to like her and it only increased as the story progressed until by the end, I’d done a total switch in my regard for her.

There are a few unexpected twists and turns in the second half of the story that I really appreciated, and that saved the story for me. They also let me see another side to Dom and Dom, both who I really liked, despite their aggressive, domineering and protective ways. Once these three are together, there are ups and downs in their relationship but in the end, as expected, they find each other and a happily-ever-after.

Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of M/M intimacy, spanking, and questionable consent.
