Kelan has gone to New York to help his brother Cody, and Cody’s new mate, get things ready for their big move.  Hoping for a little down time, he heads to one of the local gay bars.  Kelan does not know what shocks him more, finding his mate or learning that his mate is a human.

Kelan’s Pursuit is the third story in Ms. Lewis’ Shifters’ Haven series and so far, the most intense of the three. Kelan is the pack’s Alpha and, as such, has learned to be very forceful going after what he wants.  This causes him a little trouble when it comes to claiming his mate.  Jake is only looking for a good time and sees nothing wrong with picking a new bed partner every night.  When Jake is first introduced in the story, he comes across as a bit of a prick. In fact, that seems to be the consensus of those who know him and I was curious how the author would bring him around.  Once you learn his actions are the result of past hurts, they become a little more understandable but not necessarily more likeable.  One of the things I liked about the way the author wrote Jake is that while he soon comes to regret his behavior, he makes no excuses, instead he owns up to what he did and tries to make amends.  Kelan is quick to stand by his new mate, although at times it is hard.  The worry the Alpha has regarding his mate and if they can make their relationship work comes across realistically.  The passion between them is strong, so be ready for some hot scenes between the two.

Like the previous two stories, Kelan’s Pursuit also has a bit of mystery woven into it.   Reader’s are sure to enjoy the twists and turns the story takes, as well as the introduction of some new secondary characters, one of whom is Cary.  This young shifter is sure to gain many fans and, while the author has at least two more stories planned for this series, I hope she will write a happy ending for Cary before she brings Shifters’ Haven to an end.
