Viv is a socialite who gave up that life in favor of being a government agent.  Alex has been working overseas and was betrayed by a female partner that resulted in the death of several other agents.

Both Viv and Alex have a lot of misconceptions about each other in Misdirection.  The storyline itself could be out of the newspapers or investigative reports.  The twists and turns in this story will keep your interest, once you get past the first few chapters.  Though a little slow in the beginning, this particular scenario is very important to the rest of the story.

The author did a good job resolving the differences that Viv and Alex had, along with the feelings of jealousy that both experienced.  There were some funny scenes between them involving Viv’s Ferrari and Alex.

I could also picture the secondary characters in some of the meetings they had, especially Viv’s friend Griff.  The frustration that all the characters experienced during the investigation was so true and came through clearly.  There were a couple of stakeout scenes that I felt in true life, Alex and Viv would have actually been caught.

Misdirection is a good story to add to the bookshelf if you like spy type suspense stories.
