Duff had thought he’d seen the last of Lily years ago but when the intruder in his barn turns out to be his ex on the run from her abusive partner, Duff is rattled to his core. He’d never felt such pain and hurt as he did the day Lily walked out on him, and he shudders at the memory of those dark days before he found comfort in new love Bo’s arms.

Despite the healing Bo has had to perform on Duff’s heart, Bo can’t help but be enraptured by the beauty of the woman, whose actions caused such destruction. He also can’t help but notice the obvious chemistry still coursing between Lily and his man. When a storm spooks Lily into Bo and Duff’s bed, all three of them are surprised at the intimacy that ensues.

Lily regrets the space she put between Duff and herself back when his love had first threatened to overwhelm her. Her life went downhill from there and it’s taken her all this time to find her way back to the only man who ever gave a damn about her. She’s surprised to find him in a relationship with another man and even more surprised that she is okay with it. She had returned to Duff to get away from her current situation, in a naive attempt to pick up where she had left off, but could she really look herself in the mirror if she tried to get between the love Duff and Bo have found? With a dangerous man still hot on her trail to claim her back for good, does she even have a choice?

There are lots of battling emotions in Riding Raw that are all represented well. I connected with Duff immediately and was completely on his side when he butted heads with Lily, so well portrayed was the hurt he had endured since he first lost her. Bo played the calming role to perfection, but it took a while to warm to Lily. She is rather calculating and uncaring of Duff’s feelings on the surface, but it was nice to have her better nature revealed slowly. The life she has been leading since leaving Duff is anything but pleasant and when I realized the danger she is still in, I couldn’t help but care for her safety, even though she had made a lot of bad choices to get in such a position. Despite the complex feelings, the chemistry between all three characters is smoking hot. There is a delicate balance that threatens to teeter over the edge at any moment and the fine line between love and hate is very well represented. I became very protective of the two men and was concerned that Lily would destroy the wonderful thing Duff and Bo had together. The edgy style of writing made for a tension filled, erotic story that left me guessing until the end.
