Now that he has his soul mate with him, there is a female android who thought she should have that right and was the cause of Alora being put back into enemy hands.
From the beginning of her life, Alora Bishop has known that her psychic ability would make her different from the people of her tribe. Her magic is subdued by the barbarians who attack them; she is taken captive and is to be sold in the slave market when Garret comes to her rescue. She felt the soul connection to him, and was resisting it; especially with him acting the dominant male.
This is a truly fantastic story and I loved reading every moment of Dark Phoenix, and just when I thought things would come to an end….more action! I was not completely happy with Alora’s character, which seemed to be on a road of self-destruction and wondered how she could have been the leader of others with such a negative of an attitude. There is a lot of action, magic, hot sex, and family connections going on, and lets not forget the dark villain who uses dark magic, thinking that he could become invincible by overtaking the people of the Hidden Realms, who are the light of many worlds.
Marly Mathews has done a wonderful job of writing this story; of making you feel love or hate for each person involved. I am guessing that it was the ultimate goal of everyone was to return to the Hidden Realms to live out eternity together or is there more to this book? I am hoping that Ms. Mathews will fulfill the curiosity of her readers with more on the secondary characters, especially the twins.
