Carson is a private detective, who had the misfortune of thinking that going to Africa with his boyfriend would help their relationship. When they get into an argument, Carson is stranded out in the middle of nowhere. Soon he is lost, attacked by cannibals and taken hostage by a group of mercenaries. Able to escape, Carson is once again trying to find his way back to Jawara City. Eventually he meets up with Jack MacKenzie, whose group of mercenaries is out to help the people of Jawara.
From the beginning the two men are attracted to each other, yet neither is willing to make a move. When they realize their feelings are getting stronger instead of going away, Jack and Carson decide to take things slowly, which is good since they are constantly up to their necks in trouble of one sort or the other.
The author, Alex Standish, tells the story of a fictional African country that could be taken straight out of today’s headlines and interweaves the romance of Jack and Carson smoothly into it. This action packed story will keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what could possibly happen next. Ripple Effect is not to be missed.
