Baker’s Dozen is a complex story that does not stop with the main characters. This novel brings a hoard of characters in the name of Bryan’s customers. The story is filled with three-dimensional characterisations, eroticism and overall seductive imagery. The author has pulled out all the stops in this genuine story about love and heartache.
Whilst the introduction of numerous characters is dealt with amazingly, some characters shone brighter than others. However the wealth of characters in this story never showed any repetition and each character’s story was original and told achingly well. What also made each story connect was it always went back to the two main heroes James and Bryan. Each story inked to Bryan’s and James’s well-loved chocolates.
Baker’s Dozen is a daring novel, and one that may require a specific audience because it deals with a lot more than just one couple. However Dallas Coleman has done a great job with this story, and it’s a story that really made the start to the New Year that much sweeter.
