Scott Whittaker has been grumpy as a bear with a sore paw, even growling at a kitten who had taken shelter in the barn with his beloved horses. When his lover-veterinarian Dean Conlon heard Scott’s threat to kick the kitty out in the snow, now in a huff too, Dean and kitty drove to Dean’s office, leaving grumpy Scott to stew alone. Dean had plans for a cozy celebration with Scott, but unless they can resolve whatever is bothering Scott, the coming year is not looking very bright.
New Year’s Fire is a holiday visit with the characters from A Sure-Fire Cure. The amazing Kate Steele gives the readers a progress report on Scott and Dean learning to adjust to being a couple in this well written, very funny and sexy episode. New Year’s Fire is an impressive and enjoyable story.
