Matilda is waiting for her one true love to come along but before her dreams can come to past the overlord of the lands wants her to marry a knight who will not treat her well. Now that she recognizes her feelings for Lord Geoff there are only two things she can do and neither is what she wants.
Lord Geoff heard singing and had to see the person himself. When he saw Matilda it was instant love and knowing that she was Saxon was definitely going to cause problems for him. Each time that he forced his attention on her, they spent more time together than planned.
Matilda’s Song is a beautiful historic story with scarifies for more than one person and it only got better. The characters and their clothing were described in great detail and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. The beginning of the deceit started out harmless but quickly ended up being something much more than either person expected. JoAnn Smith Ainsworth writes of love, mystery and adventure here and the outcome is nothing of what I had even hoped it would be, but a much more rewarding ending.
