Since Nikki Jones is the only woman in the Special Forces branch of the Army, she has a lot to prove to stay in that position and the men are not making it easy on her. With her past problems re-surfacing to haunt her and Marshall crowding her, the situation escalates beyond their belief. Nikki has to keep everything under control and Marshall is not a man that she can do that to so they end up angry at each other most of the time.

Marshall Eastwood has had to take care of others most of his life and it carries over into the job he has now. When he meets Nikki, there is instant electricity between them and it never stops even when things go bad. After seeing what had been done to her while growing up sets him on edge. It makes it harder for him not to smother her with his caring, without her temper flaring knowing that he could not tell her what he knew already.

Die Slowly for Me is a beautiful story about a young woman overcoming abuse, along with the help of a very strong man’s understanding. This book kept me reading to find out what was going to happen next, and talk about hot sex scenes between Nikki and Marshall! Through this story, the cat had my vote and I was kept laughing, wanting to cry or root for the characters that were always on an emotional roller coaster ride.

There was a lot of in-depth research done on the Special Forces and I was very impressed by T. L. Gray’s writing. From the beginning of this book until the end you did not know what to expect to happen, and I was not disappointed at all by the author. What stands out more for me is the fact that love won out regardless of any adversities that came about.
